Common Ambition coffee morning: a co-produced event
On the 29th March the Brighton and Hove Common Ambition held our first co-produced event. From 10 to 12pm, the team hosted a coffee morning in the conference room at Community Base. We invited those with lived experience of homelessness, frontline workers and service managers to come and learn more about the project. It was the first event the lived experience steering group had designed and hosted. It was an opportunity to unveil the draft system maps the group had been working on, ask those attending for feedback on these maps and also any ideas they had for positive change. It was great to see so many people attend and to hear so any rich conversations about what positive changes we could make and how useful the maps would be to the city. The group has come away with lots of additions to the maps, ideas for change and feedback from those working in the system.
Next step for the project is service design, during the coming weeks we will be consolidating, clustering and then prioritising all our ideas for change and picking the first one to take forward. We will be working collaboratively with a professional service designer and the steering group to co-produce a new or improved design intervention for the city. This will include ideation, prototyping and implementation workshops. There are so many ideas for change coming out, but there are some solid themes emerging. Watch this space for more news on the themes, which we will publish in a future blog.
