Max and Anna ran the 2021 Brighton Marathon for Arch, raising almost £1000 for our vital work with people facing homelessness. Their efforts were doubly appreciated, as they had to train over the summer months, enduring heat and sun where normally they’d have cooler conditions training over the winter (the marathon usually takes place in April). On top of this, the course was 568m longer than required! Nevertheless they kept up their pace and made great times, with members of the Arch team out in force to cheer them on, providing moral support at mile 14.
Runner Anna commented, “It’s been hard work but an absolutely fantastic experience. Hearing the supporters cheer me on, and knowing I’m doing it for a great cause, really kept me going. I’d recommend it to anyone, and running for a good cause definitely gives you the drive to see it through in the tough moments.”
We are incredibly grateful to this year’s runners.
