The School Clinic Morley Street Brighton BN2 9DH
I am a musician – a singer and songwriter and I spend much of my time outside of my Arch role playing live at festivals and gigs and also leading song writing workshops in various settings from universities, schools to community groups.
I am a musician and during the pandemic all of my work ended, no furlough etc, so I started to volunteer in a food bank…a few months in, leading on from that I heard about a contracted role delivering food to homeless people throughout Brighton, Hove and surrounding areas, which I did for a year…when that came to an end I was offered the opportunity to work as the Covid response co-ordinator. So, fate and circumstances brought me into working in this field – prior to working as a full-time musician I previously worked for the Childrens Society so working in the charity and voluntary sector has always interested me more than the private one.
In my current role I coordinate outreach vaccination clinics , with a nurse, offering 1st and 2nd vaccinations to people living in temporary and emergency accommodation; trying to make the process of obtaining a vaccine a little easier for people in those types of accommodations.
I love working for an organisation that has an inspiring set of ethics. The values of Arch chime with my own personal ones, those of equality, fairness, integrity, kindness and humanity. Having collaboration and community at the heart of the work they do is wonderful.
