The School Clinic Morley Street Brighton BN2 9DH
I have been working part time at Arch since the end of 2019, and I also work part time as an LGBTQ+ Sexual Health and HIV Outreach Worker at Terrence Higgins Trust.
I believe that everyone should be able to feel comfortable, safe, and free from prejudice when accessing healthcare. In our current political climate, those without a home face so many barriers to accessing care and see continued cuts to essential support services. I wanted to be involved in helping those experiencing homelessness feel seen, valued, and supported.
I work on reception where day-to-day work can be very varied and includes: working with other local services and helping to connect patients with them, organising appointments and prescriptions, and doing admin. I also manage the fortnightly Multi Agency Homeless Healthcare Meeting and work on cancer screening and learning disability programs.
The team at Arch are wonderful and are really passionate about improving the health and lives of our patients. It’s also great to work at a small surgery where we can get to know patients individually and deliver accessible and personalised care.
